What Will My Life Be in 10 Years?

Your Life Will Be Calm in Ten Years

You're the type of person who takes things as they come, and you do your best not to worry.

You know that there's a lot in this world that you can't change - and you're not about to try to change it.

You are confident and content. You don't feel like you need to push too hard.

Try to break out of your comfort zone every now and then, though. Have an adventure! You are risking complacency.

Twenty-seven Is Clearly Better Than 26

The best gift I could get on my 27th B'Day?

A day off!

I had a great B'Day on my Work Share Day. I woke up at around 2 PM (I slept at around 3 AM, so don't judge me! Hehe...) and saw a B'Day card from my mom. Then when my sister came home from work and from picking up her kids, she handed me a red envelope containing a gift card from Spa Utopia!!! Hehehe... I've been giving my family hints like, "I need a freaking spa day," or the like. Well, after all the crap I've gone through - and probably will go through in the next few months - I do need a spa day. Heck, I need a spa year! I haven't looked at the service directory, but I will definitely schedule a spa appointment soon.

Then we had an Italian dinner - i.e. spaghetti that my mom cooked and meat lover's and Hawaiian pizzas from Pizza Hut - at home at 4 PM, because the Cs needed to leave at 5 PM for Miss KC's awards assembly. My nephew/godson prayed before we ate and we all had a great chat over dinner. Then we took out a small chocolate cake with small Oreos on top (that my mom bought) and a medium-sized cheese cake from Costco. Everyone under 30 years old loved the chocolate cake and everyone above 21 years old loved the cheese cake.

After dinner, I settled in front of the living room TV to watch three of the four Glee episodes I had missed. My niece convinced me to open the pink gift-wrapped box that the Cs gave me during the "Laryngitis" episode. The Cs gave me the Pretty as a Picture Fragrance Value set from Elizabeth Arden!!! The box contains a Pretty Eau de Parfum Spray, a Pretty Body Lotion, and a Limited Edition Elizabeth Arden Charm Bracelet. It's sooooooooo pretty! There was also a letter from Miss KC. Very sweet and sincere.

I ate some more pizza and went back to my room after the "Dream On" episode to watch the FlashForward series finale. It was amazing, explosive, and mind-blowing. It's a shame that ABC cancelled the show. And that the finale had to air on my B'Day.

Thanks to everyone who sent B'Day greetings on Facebook and Twitter. I felt the love because a lot of people I haven't talked to actually greeted me.

The other best thing about my 27th B'Day? I wasn't sick! I got sick two weeks ago and I did my best to get better before the LOST series finale. I got better, but all the crying I did during "The End" made me cough again. But I wasn't coughing yesterday so it's all good.

Thank You, Lord, for the past 27 years. I raise a glass of Canada Dry ginger ale for the next 27 or 54 years (at least).

Bye, Pennette! Hello, Rosola!

Remember when I wrote about Pennette, the Virtual Families little peep that I adopted?

Well, I decided to buy the full version, for CAD $1.99, Pennette, Beamer, and their daughter Sandrania didn't move over to the full version. So I had to start over and adopt another little peep.

So I chose Rosola, a 27-year-old rookie fiction writer. She's now 40 and a novice fiction writer. A little boy named Link, 3 years old, knocked on her door and she adopted him. There's still no husband because she's picky. She's also a bit sickly, but I can buy medicine and dehumidifiers and such to make her healthier.

I hope the profile of Rosola's perfect guy is e-mailed to her soon.

Initial Reactions to "The End"

I think this was the episode where I cried the most.

SPOILER ALERT!

Every time someone remembered their time on the Island, I cried. Every time. Every single freaking time.

I'm surprised I didn't cry when Kate and Jack kissed and said "I love you" to each other. Oh, I guess it was because I was hooting! Did I tell y'all I'm a Jater?

At least, I was right about the last image of the show, even though I never told my theory to anyone: the last person we saw was Jack, the last shot his eye closing, in a reverse of the first moments of the series. I was surprised to see Vincent appear and lie beside Jack, but I think it made the final scene better. By the time Jack reached the bamboo field, I figured out that I was right. It was a beautiful end. (By the way, Matthew Fox says he knew about the show ending with Jack's eye closing too!)

And, oh, I was so happy that Juliet was David's mother in the sideways timeline. I have always believed that it was Juliet because it made total sense, even thought I didn't quite know what it was.

How about that sideways timeline, eh? A purgatory of sorts for the castaways after they eventually died? Wow. I did NOT see that coming. I haven't quite grasped it, but I think I'm starting to get it. I personally don't believe in a purgatory, but I get why they used the idea for the sideways timeline.

Overall, it was an amazing series finale. I can't think about the answers the last episode gave us - other than the ones I mentioned above - yet. I need a bit of time to rewatch the episode - without crying - and to think about it.

But it was still the best series finale I have ever seen!

I'd like to thank J. J. Abrams, Damon Lindelof, Carlton Cuse, Edward Kitsis, Adam Horowitz, Elizabeth Sarnoff, the rest of the writers, Jack Bender, Jean Higgins, all the actors who appeared on the show (the main and guest cast), the crew members, and every single person who worked on The Best TV Show Ever. You all have made my life better by bringing LOST to the world. You made me laugh, cry, angry, and frustrated, but you also made me fall in love with the characters you created. You also gave me new friends. YOu also taught me a lot about writing. Thank you for the amazing journey and for bringing the series to a satisfying close. I love all of you!

Holly's Inbox

While I'm still suffering from writer's block - and after reading the rest of Meg Cabot's Heather Wells mysteries last weekend - I'm reading Holly Denham's novel Holly's Inbox. It's a story told solely in e-mails from or to Holly.

I've read novels that are entirely or partly in epistolary form using letters, journal entries, and articles (e.g. C.S. Lewis's The Screwtape Letters, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Stephen King's Carrie, and Alice Walker's The Color Purple). But I've never read a novel that's told entirely in e-mails.

It's a really interesting story, even if I've only started reading it today. I can totally relate when it comes to the work stuff.

Maybe I can use this form in the near future. If I can get through this writer's block, that is.

Right Now I Command You to Dance!

I just bought Kelly Rowland's new single, "Commander," off the iTunes Canada Store.

It's a fun song! I really like the beat and the chorus. It makes me dance around... a lot! So I recommend that you listen to the song and purchase it. Here are the iTunes USA & Canada links:

Kelly Rowland - "Commander" iTunes USA

Kelly Rowland - "Commander" iTunes Canada

Also, rumour has it that Ms. Kelly's third studio album will be released on September 14th. I will wait until it's officially announced, though. I don't want to be burned when her new label delays the album release date so many times. And I hope her new album is awesome!

You Have an Active Imagination

Your mind is churning and producing new thoughts all the time. You are definitely good at imagining.

You can visualize events pretty easily, and you're not bad at thinking up new ideas.

Believe it or not, you could be a bit more imaginative. All you have to do is give yourself permission.

Spend a few minutes each day daydreaming. It's good for you, and who knows what might come of it?

V Renewed, FlashForward & Better Off Ted Cancelled

Earlier today, EW.com's Michael Ausiello reported that ABC has renewed the Elizabeth Mitchell-led V. He tweeted this:

That is great news for the series that has improved its storytelling, upped the stakes, and started kicking major butt in the ratings. Next season, ABC can move V to LOST's current timeslot or to the 8 PM slot. Assuming ABC chooses the latter, FOX keeps Glee at 9 PM, and CBS keeps The Good Wife at 10 PM, I won't have to miss anything on Tuesdays! Yay!

About an hour later, Ausiello tweeted this:

While I've been expecting Scrubs to be cancelled, I was still holding out hope for Better Off Ted and FlashForward. The writing on Better Off Ted is incredibly clever and funny. Jay Harrington and Portia de Rossi are great as the protagonist Ted and his boss Veronica. I guess the Save Better Off Ted petition didn't work, eh? One more thing: is ABC ever going to air the last two episodes produced?

There was speculation that ABC might renew FlashForward because of its popularity overseas. The writing has improved, which gave us awesome episodes such as "A561984," "Revelation Zero," "Better Angels," and "The Garden of Forking Paths." It took awhile to find its voice, but it eventually did. I just hope the finale airing on May 27th ties up everything that's relevant to the characters.

The upfront presentation for ABC is still on May 18th (incidentally, the air date for LOST's penultimate episode) and I guess the above will be officially announced then.

Pennette Has A Better Love Life Than I Do

Last night, I was looking for games on the iTunes Apps Store. I found Virtual Families, a sim game where I adopt a person - I chose Pennette, 27 and a rookie magazine editor - and I control her life, from finding a mate and encouraging her to work to giving her children and helping her house renovations.

I found Beamer, 25 and a rookie board game designer, for Pennette. He seems to be good for her; he cooks for her, and he has a happier disposition than Pennette. She seems to be depressive - like me. I thought it's only because she was lonely, so I found her a husband. I did and she was happy for a few minutes, then she's depressed again. I keep encouraging them to mate, but they fight about having kids. (Beamer's profile says he definitely wants to have children and Pennette's says it would be nice to have children, so I don't know why they fight about it.)

Anyway, Pennette works from home, but Beamer doesn't seem to work although he earns money. Maybe those are royalty payments?

The game has crashed once, but restarting my iPod Touch seems to work. Let's hope it doesn't crash anymore.

Let's also hope Pennette and Beamer agree to have children soon. Hehehe...

P.S. Wouldn't this make a good short story? Hehehe...

Kelly Clarkson: Top American Idol Of All-Time

Y'all know I hate American Idol, but it brought Kelly Clarkson into my life. Since becoming the first Idol, Kelly has become my favourite singer ever. I have her records and my second-favourite song ever (after Mariah Carey's "Butterfly") is "Maybe," from her My December album.

I also love Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks, and Kris Allen. But Kelly Clarkson remains my favourite American Idol.

Boy, am I glad that Billboard agrees with me!

As of April 17th, Kelly Clarkson leads the Top 24 American Idols of All-Time with 10.6 million albums sold, 15.9 million singles sold, and 4.26 million radio plays (total = 30.76 million).

Boo-yah.

Carrie Underwood is at number two with 11.5 million albums sold, 13.9 million singles sold, and 2.426 million radio plays (total = 27.826 million). Jordin Sparks is at number four with 1.3 million albums sold, 9 million singles sold, and 1.146 million radio plays (total = 11.446 million). Lastly, Kris Allen is at number 11 with 0.31 million albums sold, 2.6 million singles sold, and 0.165 radio plays (total = 3.075 million).

Yay, Kelly! I can't wait for her next album! I also hope I can see her perform at Lilith Fair either in Toronto on July 24th or in Montreal on July 23rd.

ABC Extends LOST Series Finale

I'm still grieving the deaths (yes, plural) in tonight's "The Candidate". Twenty minutes after the episode ended, I'm still crying. It's like when Charlie died in "Through the Looking Glass" and when Juliet died in "LA X". Oh, my  gosh. If you don't cry while watching tonight's episode, then you're made of stone.

At least I had to smile just a little bit when I read on EW.com that the LOST series finale - aptly titled "The End" - will become a two-and-a-half hour event. ABC has previously announced five hours of LOST series finale event on May 23rd starting from 7 PM - two hours of clip show entitled LOST: The Final Journey, two hours of the series finale proper, and one hour of post-finale special entitled Jimmy Kimmel Live!: Aloha to LOST. Now it's five-and-a-half hours of LOST awesomeness on May 23rd!

In addition, the penultimate episode airs on May 18th, five days before the finale. Lastly, ABC airs "Pilot, Part 1" and "Pilot, Part 2" on May 22nd. (Taking advantage of May sweeps, eh?)

Now, excuse me while I cry a little more and try to concentrate on tonight's V.
