Anyway, there is a two-part interview on the TV Guide website among TV Guide, Jimmy Kimmel, Carlton Cuse, and Damon Lindelof. Apparently, Kimmel - a LOST addict himself - arrived ten minutes early and with a two-inch-thick stack of research. Wow. Did he go on every LOST fan site? That would be a lot.
In the first part of the interview published on 22 April, Kimmel opened with a question regarding the Island's healing powers. It went like this:
The island heals some people and doesn't heal others. For instance, Ben needed an operation from Jack to beat cancer, but it seems like Sawyer gets injured every sixth episode and by the next, he's fine. Is that just a TV thing?
Even The Powers That Be were surprised at Kimmel's hardcore-fanboy-ness. Carlton quipped, "Where are the softball questions, Jimmy? What about the warm-up?"
And that is just the beginning.
In the second part published yesterday, 24 April, Kimmel asked whether or not everyone on the Island is from planet Earth. Interesting question, isn't it? Darlton's answer?
Cuse: [Long pause] Yes. That may be one of the best Lost questions we've ever been asked.
Lindelof: When you get asked questions like that, you have to be very careful how you answer.
Even more interesting answer, isn't it? Or is it just me? You tell me. (Of course, there's the assumption that someone actually reads this.)
"Something Nice Back Home" - LOST's episode 4x10 - airs on 1 May 2008, at 10/9 central on ABC.
